SHOPPING OUR STASH #219 - Outta This World

Good morning and welcome! A new challenge is starting at SHOPPING OUR STASH - Outta This World! We'd like to see you use aliens (any sort of monster would work here) on your project. If aliens don't float your boat, as an alternative, you could use anything celestial (moon, stars, planets, etc.) See? Choices! Here's my card:

And the inside of my card:

Last year we did a challenge to try a faux technique, and I made this card using the faux Northern Lights tutorial. I made a couple attempts, my second attempt turning out much better. But, I couldn't throw that other panel away. Nope. Just. Couldn't. Do. It. So I kept it thinking some day I might use it. That day has arrived. I die cut the sky panel into a smaller square. I had to MacGyver the embossed star panel and partially run it through my GC few times, since I insisted in stamping the sentiment in the bottom corner, and the folder frames I have don't have a space that far in the corner. (If you have the Darice folder frames, you'll understand what I just said. Hopefully.) Anyway, that getting done, I stamped, colored and fussy cut my little alien, and added Glossy Accents and Crystal Stickles. A few star shaped rhinestones and it was done.

I hope you find some time to play along with us at Shopping Our Stash! Please check out what the other ladies have created for your viewing pleasure, and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for hanging out with me, and have a great day!

  1. MacGyvered - HA! You did well, though.I was going to suggest partial embossing, but that would have left a strip across the bottom, You've managed just the corner. You win!

Love that Northern sky; I would have kept it, too. The Northern Sky technique is one on my To Do list.

  6. Oh, wow! This is really cool, Chris! I really love this design! Just the small panel of Northern Lights works so well with that embossed background, and I love how the alien goes off the edge. Really really fun!

adding pinterest script 3. Changing the Position of the Pin it! button The cool thing about this code is that you have some freedom over where the Pinterest button for Blogger will go over the image. Take a look at the code that you just copied and pasted into the HTML for the word 'center'.
