SHOPPING OUR STASH #206 - Out on a Limb

Good morning all! It's time for a new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH! As the prompt in the title suggests, we'd like to see you use trees, leaves, twigs, etc. on your card or project. Here's the card I made:

and the inside:

I based my card very loosely on the now over with Freshly Made Sketch #190. (Always late to the party - that's me. *sigh*) It just looked like a bird sitting on a branch to me, so that's what I made. (Although, this cute little birdie looks as if it's doing the Happy Dance on that branch!) I spent way too much time going through my paper collections looking for the perfect wood grained pattern. I finally found it though. I doodled the tree on the back side, cut it out, inked the edges to add dimension/shading and popped it up on some thin foam squares. The bird was stamped (for the first time!) colored, fussy cut and popped up on foam squares. The leaves I had die cut a couple weeks ago for another project that was an epic fail, but I saved them. (Somehow I knew I'd use them eventually) A couple more sentiments finish the inside.

So, ready to put those tree/branch/twig/leaf stamps or dies to use? Here's your chance! Just link your card or project to Shopping Our Stash so we can see it! Please be sure to check out what my teammies created for your viewing pleasure, and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for dropping in and I hope you have a great day!

  8. omgosh, this is one of my all-time favorite projects of yours, Chris! That bird is so darn adorable, and your tree is amazing! All that work digging through your papers really paid off, because the woodgrain is perfect! And awesome job freehand cutting a tree shape. I really love the skeleton leaves you used, too. And that bird! My gosh, SO fun!
