JUST US GIRLS #296 - Word Week

Happy Saturday crafty peeps! It's Word Week at JUST US GIRLS, and Nancy is your hostess this week. She's picked the word SUMMER, and a fabulous word it is! I think it's safe to say that all of us are sooooooo ready for summer! Here's the card I made:

 Here is the inside:

Ok, so I suck at water coloring. Luckily, I didn't have to use many colors. My 'water colors' are actually distress ink and I painted the scene with a water brush. Ah, a sunset sailboat ride. I miss them. Way back in the Dark Ages when I was in high school, my best friend's Dad was part owner of a sailboat, that they raced on Lake Michigan. I never went on a race, but I did go with to take the boat out of winter storage to sail it up the Chicago river to the marina. Of course, we'd take it out on the lake for a little excursion sail! Fun Times!

(pay no attention to my 80's big hair! LOL!)

Ok, so back to the present. ☺ We hope that you get the chance to play along with our Summer challenge this week at Just Us Girls! Please check out what the other gals, and our June Guest Designer - Ros Crawford - have made and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

  1. Love your card Chris! You did a incredible job! When I was young my next door neighbor was my best friend and her father owned his own boat building business so I too spent many days and night sailing with my BF and her family. Thanks for taking me back!

  3. You so don't suck. This is beautiful! Sailboat racing might be my least favourite on-the-water activity. :D Luckily the husb gave it up a long time ago.

  7. That hair rocks :P
You so don't suck at watercolouring. I am becoming addicted because I've finally figured out it's better to NOT be "perfect" at it. (Hey, score, I can be not perfect! woot!) And I use my DI for it - they blend perfectly.
All that to say OOOOOH pretty sailboat :) lol
