SHOPPING OUR STASH #201 - Oldest Washi Tape

Hello and good morning crafty peeps! We have a fun new challenge starting today at SHOPPING OUR STASH! It's all about using your oldest washi tape! But of course, we give you options - you can use actual washi tape, or make your own faux washi tape, or use washi tape stamps! See? Options! I went with using not Washi tape, but painters tape for my card. (I mean seriously, isn't that what washi tape is anyway - designer painters tape?!) I found this tutorial while Googling and thought it was a fun idea, so I tried it:

I love the texture you get from using the tape as a stamp! I used four colors of Distress Inks for my card, plus a stamp I've had for over 3 years (And this is the first time it's seen ink. Yay me - I used my shtuff!)

Now it's your turn to break out that washi tape (or stamps) that you've been hoarding. We'd love to see what you've made - just link up your card or project at Shopping Our Stash! While there, please check out what my teammies came up with to inspire you, and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I've seen this technique, and I APPROVE! Love the look you get! Though I know me pretty well, and I'd wear more ink than makes it to the paper. :)

  2. I love the look of your technique, I looked at faux washi tape tutorials and thought it was more work than going to the store. I now have a small collection of tapes and haven't any idea on how to use them. Love your card, you did a fabulous job. awesome.

  6. What a fun technique! I'll have to try this! Since I've of course already absconded with a role of painter's tape from the husb's workshop. And such a pretty way to use this stamp -- I have it too, and have even managed to use it once or twice. ;)
