Shopping Our Stash #137: Love Me Tender

Good Morning and welcome to another fun challenge at Shopping Our Stash! Since we know you still feel compelled to make Valentine's Day cards or projects, this week's challenge is to make something with a theme of Love or Valentine's Day. ☺ My hubby and I do not celebrate Valentine's Day. We always felt that it was a 'Hallmark Holiday'. That being said, here is my take on this challenge:

and the inside of my card: why does the white card base look pink?!

I was actually going to give this to him, but he came into the craft cave while I was making it and, well, there went that idea. :P All of the stamps used I've had for at least a year. Plus this was the first time they all saw ink. (A goal of mine was to start using more of the gazillion stamps I've accrued over the years. That's easy to do when you subscribed to a stamp kit of the month club. Or two. Like I was.  I nailed it with this card. Yay me!) Did some fussy cutting also, with all those hearts. There's navy blue in the paper collection I used, so the main panel is framed in navy card stock, from the scrap pile no less. (although it looks black, it's navy. Trust me)

Well. If you are completely bedazzled by my card making prowess, (LOL! Just kidding!), why not make a card or project with a love or V-Day theme to it and link it up at Shopping Our Stash? Come on, you know you want to! And don't forget to check out the amazing cards my teammates made for your viewing pleasure!

Thanks for hanging out with me. I hope you have a great day! Stay crafty, my friends!

Chris

  3. EXCELLENT use of stash. Congratulations for inking up some virgin stamps, and using a piece of navy from the scrap pile.

And yeah, I don't like Hallmark holidays, designed just for selling cards. Like Grandparents' Day, Sweetest Day, Secretary's Day ... pffth.

For the record I am always bedazzled by your mad card making skillz although I have some concerns for Mr Potato Head's well being if you're trying to get him drunk...

  5. We've never celebrated VD (hahahaha, typed it, realized, and had to leave it. snort) either - what surprises me is how many people don't, considering all the hype out there! I've sold a whopping 5 valentine cards this year. I think more people are joining us there.
    NOW
    onto the card
LOOK AT THOSE HEARTS! My god the fussy cutting. Gorgeousness! I love it. And, seriously, he actually looked at it? I have to shove the card right into Rob's face, and even then I can't make his eyeballs register it if it's crafty.

  10. Dear Chris,

First, love your card to pieces.

Second, Mister and I don't celebrate the contrived holiday celebrating VD either, but I have enough heart products to make a card a week for a year, so I love and make lots of them and just send them to my friends. Want to be a card pen pal and get one? Just email me your addie.

Third, if he's like most men your hubs will have LONG forgotten he saw this card by the time the 14th rolls around so you're still okay to give it to him.

Fourth, next time you could please give my NBUS campaign a shoutout and join in my campaign to use up that never-before-used-schtuff. You did a wonderful job of it here big time, well done, A+++!! I even have a cornball graphic, haha!

Fifth, I love that simple inside sediment very mucho!! The pink wash comes from Cupid, cousin of Mr. Mojo, who lurks in the background this time of year.

    Love,
    Me

  12. I've always liked Valentine's from back when I was a little kid and you would make some sort of "mailbox" for your classmates to leave you little cards in. That was the beginning of my love of mail. Anyway, LOVE you card. That stamp really speaks to me (and it's not telling me to klll if that's your worry).
