Happy and Sad....

Hello and Happy Friday! This is my second post today after misplacing my mojo all week. Sheesh! I want to share a couple cards with you that I made, not for any current challenge, but for specific people in mind. Here's the first card:

and the inside:

I used an older sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch (#15), for the front of the card. I just love this sketch and will probably use it again from time to time. Just love the simplicity of it! I have a niece who is expecting her second child in July and knows she's having a girl, thus the girly card! I got these Tim Holtz hanger clips a while ago and thought it would look cute to hang the little dress on it! Love how this turned out!

Ok, now for card #2:

the inside:

On the flip side, I have a friend who just lost his mother and wanted to make a sympathy card for him and his family. After cutting my main panel to size, I masked and stamped the sentiment first. I then used a bunch of different stamps from the Recollections set to stamp around the edges. Some are stamped directly from the ink pad, some are stamped off first on some scrap paper before stamping on the panel. I stamped the butterfly on some more designer paper, fussy cut, adhered and added some rhinestones for the body. Finished the inside and was done.

It was a strange day. I made the baby card, then about an hour after finishing it, found out about my friends mother passing and immediately made his card. I don't know how to feel about that. It's like polar opposites.  Or some kind of zen thing. I don't know.

Well, anyway, I'm off to go make a salad and top off my wine glass. ☺ I hope that you have a great evening and a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. OK, these are both wonderful, in such different ways. I love that baby card! Total cuteness, and how perfect is that little hanger? The sympathy card - kudos to you for being able to do that for your friend right away. It's a gorgeous & soothing card.

  2. Both cards are fabulous Chris! You always make PS stamps shine! I love your color choices in the second...so rich and warm...and the inside is perfect. Never easy to make sympathy cards but you've done a beautiful job. Your friend will certainly be comforted. Hugs
