Getting Krafty...

Good morning and Happy Halloween! Are you dressing up today in costume? I am, sort of. I have a Halloween shirt and a hair band that looks like a witch's hat. Very much me! LOL!

So, we survived hurricane Sandy! Shew! Had a bit of water come in the basement, but nothing major. And unbelievably, we never lost power! Woot woot! I took a walk around the hood yesterday morning to see how bad it was, and, it wasn't! There were alot of twigs and small branches down, but no major limbs nor trees. I think there was more tree damage when that derecho came through earlier this year! If you live in Sandy's path, I sure hope that you all fared well!

Ok, on to my card. I made this for Cas-ual Fridays CFC76: to use Kraft paper on your project.

the inside:

Chief Crafty Pants! Buahahaha! I love it! Stamps, markers and Washi tape, oh my! Super simple card.

That's it for now. I'm hoping that I won't have to go play pool tonight. I joined a women's 8 ball league a month ago and we usually play on Wednesday night. But with it being Halloween and post-Sandy, I really don't want to go tonight. ☺ Oh well, we'll see!

Have a great rest of the day and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Boo to you!

Hi there! I'm getting my blog on just in case the power goes out when hurricane Sandy hits. This next card I made is combining two challenges: CTD215 and a new sketch challenge called CAS(E) this sketch challenge #3.

The inside:

Here are the challenges:

Aren't those bats cute? Those were some of the winnings I received from Petaloo about a month ago. It's hard to tell, but the glitter on the wings is even purple to match the pale purple bat head!

Thanks for stopping by! Stay safe from hurricane Sandy (if you are on the east coast, like me), and have a wonderful evening!

Chris ☺

Supplies:
Card stock: DCWV
DP: Martha Stewart
Stamp: Unity Stamps - Oct. 2012 KOTM
Ink: Tsukineko - Tuxedo Black: Clear Snap - Charcoal
Stickers: Petaloo - bats; American Crafts - alphas
Other: Grand Calibur and Std. Circles Lg Nesties - Spellbinders; Leafy Branch EF - Cuttlebug

Save the boobies! ♥

Hey all! I've been slacking on posting blogs. My excuse is because first I got a cold, then I took my dog and drove to visit my sister in NC for almost a week. Then it was cleaning the house and preparing for Hurricane Sandy. (I live just outside of Baltimore, MD. That b*tch is headed straight at me!) Watching all the news stations and the Weather Channel, it looks as if Armageddon is on our doorstep. We are as prepared as we can be. Wish us luck!

Anyway, I made this card before I left for my sister's (ironically, her name is Sandy! Who knew! LOL!), but forgot to post it before I left. Sorry for the bad lighting. Even with editing it, it still looks bad. I'm entering this for Unity Stamp's KOTM challenge:

And the inside:

I made this for my sister to give to her girlfriend, who is a breast cancer survivor, and is doing wonderfully. She is one of the sweetest women I've had the pleasure to meet, and she's a great friend to my sister. I hope she likes it!

That's it for this post. I've got another one to post so please stay tuned! ☺If you live on the east coast, please be safe!

WCMD and Unity #8 color challenge

The final challenge (not including the bonus ones, of course!) This is for Unity's color challenge: to use cream, brown, olive and pumpkin on your card.

 and the inside:

I used the same cream paper for the top panel and to stamp the typewriter and 'take note'. Loved the ledger pattern on it. I took it a step further by punching out the border on the top edge. Makes it look like I ripped it off a note pad. (heh heh, get it?!) On the inside I paired the Happy Birthday stamp with one of my all time FAVORITE sentiment stamps from Unity: you. are. old. OMG! Too stinkin' funny!! LOL!

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

Chris ☺

Supplies:
Card stock: Bazzill Basics
DP: Crate Paper (orange); Echo Park - This & That
Unity stamps: For the Record Co-brand with EP (take note and typewriter); Feb.2012 KOTM (you are old); July 2012 KOTM (Happy Birthday)
Ink: Tsukineko - Rich Cocoa; Clear Snap - Olive
Punch: EK Success
Corner rounder: Fiskars
Cord: May Arts
MyStik and 3D foam squares - SA by 3L
Grand Calibur; Labels one Nesties

WCMD and Unity #7 coloring

Hello and good afternoon! I'm back with the last two Unity challenges for WCMD. This one is the coloring challenge:

and the inside:

Funny thing about this card. After finishing it, I then read the last challenge. Turns out I used almost all the colors for the next challenge on this card! DOH!  No worries though, I made another card for that challenge.  I colored the dress all one color and the feathers in three other colors. After coloring the image, I came to the conclusion that I didn't like how the waist looked - too much of the same color. So, I got out the glitter pen and went over the waist and bottom hem. MUCH better! Nothing wrong with a little sparkle! LOL!

One more post to go. Then perhaps I'll get back to the housework. (Stranger things have happened!) Thanks for stopping by!

WCMD and Unity #6 border challenge

You've made it to my third post today! Yippee! This is for Unity's Border challenge: to stamp a border but using a non-border stamp.

and the inside:

I embossed the paint can multiple times onto water color paper, colored "ROYGBV", cut out and glued to my card base. Three of the cans I used foam squares to pop them off the card. Added the sentiment and twine and wa-la! A very cute CAS card! (Well, I think it's cute!)

Whew! Done posting for now. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you join in these challenges. Big prizes to be had! Have a great day!

WCMD and Unity #3

Hey all. Here is a card I made for Unity Stamp's Embossing Challenge. Check it:

And the inside:

I hope this looks more like a masculine card as two of my Brother-in-laws are having birthdays soon and this is going to one of them. I was having trouble getting the HB2U sentiment to fit inside that smaller frame, so I used the next size up (even though, to me, it's more feminine looking. Oh well!) The frame stamps have dies to match from Spellbinders, but since I don't as yet own them, I put the stamp over my embossed image, traced around it, then just cut it out. (If you do this, make sure you use a pencil so you can erase any lines still showing!)

That's all I have for now. Still working on more cards. And laundry. And washing the floors. Ugh, I'd rather run head first into a wall than do housework.

Have a great day!

Chris ☺

Supplies:
Card stock: Bazzill Basics (blue); Recollections (kraft)
Stamps: Frames from Twisted Metal Tags & Accents set; Sentiments from March 2012 KOTM; Border strip from July 2012 KOTM
Ink: Tsukineko - Versamark
Embossing powder: Stampendous - Alexandrite
Twine: MME
Adhesive: MyStik and 3D foam squares from SA by 3L

Tuesday Trigger - Soup to Nuts

Hey there! It's a rainy day out here in B-more so I thought it was perfect weather to make a card. (Seriously, EVERY kind of weather is a great excuse to make a card!) I was checking out the Moxie Fab World blog and for some unknown reason, never saw the post for the current Tuesday Trigger. As soon as I saw the inspiration pic, I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do! Check it out:

and the inside:

Here is the inspiration picture:

Woo Hoo! Fun with type! I swear Cath finds the most coolest pics to use for challenges, and I so need to play along more often! When I first saw this, I couldn't get "ransom note" out of my head. Since it's all about Halloween here at my house, I made a funny (I think ☺) Halloween card, a la ransom note. Plus I used a bunch of alpha stickers that I've had forever - Bonus!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you get to play along with this fabbo challenge!
